Bruce Rogersoholic, I didn't buy that snare, but it sold for around 0 and it was one of those thin Gretsch shell Dynas that Bruce mentioned, that could have been one of the last ones before they went to the 2nd Generation COB shell with the dual bead.
I ended up buying a frame at an open auction on Ebay, that frame had been on a 1965 Ludwig snare drum that the owner inherited.
I'll dig through my stuff and see if I do, and post some pictures.
The gut snare wires were preferred by orchestra players.
